Playwrights meet monthly to read and discuss works-in-progress. Here is where raw first drafts (often portions thereof) can be analyzed for character development, storyline directions and overall impact of theme and premise. Strengths and weaknesses are revealed, and subsequent work on the script is channeled productively.
Membership
Participation in the playwrights groups is by invitation. New York-area based playwrights who wish to be considered for the groups should submit a writing sample, resume and cover letter, outlining how our group would help your work as a writer, to:

Annual Retreat
Abingdon conducts weekend-long retreats for playwrights at an upstate New York location giving writers ample time to read and discuss their work in a supportive atmosphere.
