Be the reason an artist’s dream comes true!
Abingdon Theatre Company harbors emerging artists, giving them a platform to develop their work and grow. We have seen artists like Sunset Boulevard’s Pierre Marais flourish in our Abingdon Virtual program, writing and directing award-winning short films; Dave Droxler’s Robin & Me: My Little Spark of Madness toured regionally following Abingdon’s Off-Broadway premiere production; 29th season Artist-in-Residence Ilda Mason can be seen on Broadway now in Buena Vista Social Club; Playwright Cris Eli Blak, alumni of the Artist-in-Residence Program, Festival of Short Plays, and the Around the Table Reading series is now a staff writer on Starz’s Raising Kanan; and so many more artist journeys and voices that Abingdon has uplifted over the past 32 years. Join us in supporting the next generation of brave artists.
All contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. Questions and sponsorship inquiries can be sent to kbell@abingdontheatre.org

OUr PROGRAMS
The One Night Only Series
A lot can happen in one night! That’s the motto of Abingdon’s One Night Only Series, which strives to create a once in a lifetime theatrical experience. Each event is a chance for us to orchestrate the magic that happens when artists come together to create. Voices young and old, unique and never repeated, a chance to revisit classics and hear a new voice for the first time.
Brave new voices
Brave New Voices features work from the most exciting up and coming artists in the country, unearthing deserving young talent and providing them valuable industry exposure. The musical equivalent of the One Night Only Series, Brave New Voices will showcase the rising stars of our New York musical theatre community.
around the table reading series
The Around the Table Reading Series is a critical program in serving Abingdon Theatre Company’s mission to create exciting, thought-provoking new work by New York-based playwrights. Staged readings are presented free to the public and focus on challenging and thought-provoking subject matter, giving the playwright a chance to hear their words aloud for the first time.
Mainstage productions
Abingdon Theatre Company’s Mainstage Productions are a crucial part of our mission to develop and share high-quality, original work by emerging and established artists that is both thought-provoking and affordable. Recently, the Off-Broadway production of Robin & Me: My Little Spark of Madness received 5 Broadway World Awards including Best New Play.
Abingdon Virtual
Abingdon Virtual is led by Executive Producer, Chad Austin, created in 2020 at a time when live theatre was not possible. Abingdon Virtual’s projects include It Cries Too Loudly, As Apple Pie, and most recently Apart.
Festival of Short Plays
Raise the Page, Uplift the Word: A BIPOC Festival of Short Plays is set to provide a platform for underrepresented voices across the country to submit their new works for development and outreach in the New York theatre community. In partnership with AMT Theater, the festival will took place February 15-16, 2025, and we will produce the sixth annual festival in our 33rd season.
